How Your Support Has Made a Difference at FeedER

Dear FeedER Donors and Volunteers:

At East Bay FeedER, we remain grateful as we wind down our operations. And we want to tell you what you have helped achieve, and how we are moving forward.

When Ayelet Waldman founded FeedER in March, implicit in her decision was a desire to actively participate in supporting our community. It has been our mandate to do so in inclusive ways. To that end, we have actively supported BIPOC-owned (which compose 50% of our restaurant list) and women-owned businesses throughout our time at FeedER. This includes vital assistance to Mela Ethiopian Bistro, OVO Tavern and Eatery, Minnie Bell’s, and Souley Vegan among many others.

So what will the future look like for FeedER?

Beginning in July, we will shift to meal deliveries one day a week, focusing on clinics and testing sites that serve communities of color.

One of our aims was to support local restaurants; ensuring their transition to other sustainable income models was a priority for us as we slow operation. Many of our restaurants are being on-boarded to World Central Kitchen and will be feeding the community in addition to healthcare workers. We’re gratified that they will continue to have a partner in WCK as they continue to serve communities in myriad ways.

And what have you helped FeedER achieve?

We’ve made nearly 800 deliveries to 16 different hospitals and clinics, with a total of 30,000 meals served since FeedER’s inception on March 19.

Your donations have helped over 80 local restaurants remain open--and consequently, helped staff remain employed. We can’t tell you how much this has meant to workers and to the community. We, our restaurant partners, and our medical sites are so very grateful to you.

The following is our complete list of participating restaurants. Most are offering delivery or take-out, and we hope you support them in the future.
