We Are All Changemakers Because of Your Support

Dear FeedER Donors and Volunteers:

Everyday, we are supporting local restaurants and feeding ED and ICU workers. Everyday, we are grateful for your donations and support. This past week at East Bay FeedER, we learned that we’ve been awarded a Jefferson Award, The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award for Outstanding Public Service Benefiting Local Communities. Jefferson Award recipients have represented America’s top changemakers alongside more than 63,000 grassroots unsung heroes from communities representing 100 million Americans. And we extend congratulations to you as this is a shared effort.

Through your support of East Bay FeedER, you have all become changemakers in a dire situation.

At East Bay FeedER this week (April 11, 2020 - April 18, 2020) we’ve made 52 deliveries to 6 different hospitals, with a total of 2,210 meals served. This is an increase of 53% meals from the week prior. We have delivered a total of 5,020 meals over the course of the 4 weeks we’ve been in operation. YOU have enabled 5,020 ED and ICU workers to be fed and for local businesses to remain open.

We continue to expand our service both to restaurants and to our local hospitals. Our goal is to feed 5 hospitals a day, twice a day--and we’re getting closer, because we now feed 6 hospitals, 3 of them twice a day.

The Bay Area shelter-in-place order is in place until at least May 3, 2020--and the battle against COVID-19 isn’t likely to end soon. We need your continued support to ensure that we can continue this service to May 3 and beyond. Please spread the word so that you can enable #EastBayFeedER to feed more ED and ICU staff.

We want to thank the following restaurants for their participation this week:

The following ED and ICU locations benefited from your support this week:

  • Highland Hospital

  • Summit Hospital, Oakland

  • Summit / Alta Bates, Berkeley

  • Kaiser, Richmond

  • Kaiser, Oakland

  • Stanford Emery Medical Center joined our rotation this week

Your donations and support have continued to psychically and physically nourish ED and ICU workers. Kaiser Hospital workers shared, “Please convey our appreciation to the restaurant and your organization for making these lunches possible.”

Thank you for your donations.

Stay safe and stay healthy,
